HTC Droid Eris
$99.00
Released November, 2009
The Pros:MicroSDHC memory expansion. Affordable ($99 after rebate and with contract). WiFi.
The Cons:Old ARM11 core at only 528MHz (stable platform but mediocre performance). Only Android 1.5 at initial release (even the G1 is already updated to 1.6!). Mail in rebate, arghh!
The HTC Droid Eris is the second Android-powered device announced to run on Verizon Wireless, after the Motorola Droid. It is meant to be a more affordable, lower-end device priced at $99 after rebate and with a Verizon contract.

Not all specifications are known at this point (October 2009), but it is known to feature dual-band CDMA (800/1900MHz) with EVDO Rev. A, a 5MP camera, and microSDHC flash memory expansion. It looks to be running Android 1.5 (Cupcake), although this might be updated even after its initial release. The processor is the same old ARM11 core at 528MHz already employed on the G1 (Dream), HTC Hero, HTC Magic, Motorola Cliq and Samsung i7500.
