The i-mate JAQ is one of i-mate's lower-mid-range smartphones, and features quad-band 2G reception. It has a 65k-color touchscreen with stylus and handwriting recgonition, as well as a full QWERTY keypad.

It uses Windows Mobile 5.0 PocketPC, and includes Pocket Office document viewer and editor for Microsoft Office files. It has an mp3 player as well as a file manager and PocketIE Internet browser. The JAQ can also send SMS, MMS, instant and email messages,  and has Bluetooth wireless capabilities. It has 64MB of RAM, 128MB of ROM, and a microSD card slot for user memory. Its CPU speed is 200MHz and expected battery life is around 4 hours per charge.
