Functioning as a direct competitor to leading smartphones from Apple, RIM and HTC, the phone offers "4G" wireless data connectivity for processing speeds that claim to be markedly faster than 3G counterparts. A full sliding QWERTY keyboard is included for increased accuracy when texting, searching and composing emails, while an 8-megapixel digital camera incorporates LED flash and auto-focus alongside a range of editing tools for high-quality stills. The XT860 is also capable of capturing full 1080p HD video, with audio scene selection producing semi-professional clips on the go. Users can configure the unit to function as a mobile hotspot, providing 3G data for up to 5 other devices with Wi-Fi connectivity. Voice command and speed dial prompts enable simplified communication, while Google's full selection of Mobile Services apps is included comprising popular applications like Gmail, Google Maps, Google Talk and YouTube. Similar to the interface of the popular Apple iPhone operating system, XT860 users can customize up to five home screens simultaneously for easy access to their favourite services. 16 gigabytes of built-in storage are available, expandable up to 32GB via microSD card.
