Samsung Ace (SPH-i325)

$450.00 Released February, 2008

Product Shot 1 The Pros:One of few cellphones with dual CDMA and GSM modes, take advantage of Sprint's network in the US whilst still being able to use it anywhere in the world, good option for business users. Bright display with good colours, acceptable for outdoor usage. No sim lock, can be used with any GSM carrier.

The Cons:Poor implementation of the qwerty keyboard, it is cramped and keys are uncomfortable to type on, does not compare to Blackberry devices. Uses Windows Mobile OS, but no Office Mobile application, greatly reduces the advantage of use the WM OS.

The Samsung Ace (SPH-i325) is a Windows Mobile 6.0 PDA smartphone released by Sprint Mobile in February 2008. It’s very similar to AT&T’s notorious Blackjack, but it hosts a more compact design with a larger 2.3” TFT display.

The Ace doesn’t support Rev. A, as it instead runs on Sprint’s EVDO Rev.0 and 1XRTT network, which basically restricts roaming to GPRS. However, the Ace does accept international carrier’s unlocked SIM cards for voice/data services while traveling. There’s also video recording/streaming, an MP3 player, microSD memory expansion, Outlook email with a direct connection to Microsoft Exchange Server 2003, and a QWERTY keyboard.
