The Pros:Large, crisp display with vibrant colors. Slider mechanism works & feels great. A-GPS application preinstalled (GPS+).

The Cons:Browsing speed through 5MP images is way too low. No option to not auto-lock when slider is closed (would be nice when used as in-car GPS). Geotagging works, but the location is wrong (e.g. pics from New Jersey get mapped to the mountains of Kyrgyzstan).

The Samsung G810 is a high-end slider handset, similar to the earlier Samsung G800 but with upgraded features. The G810 still puts a lot of emphasis on being a camera as well as a phone like the G800, and it is marginally slimmer than the G800.

Its camera is still 5.0-megapixels, and has 3x optical zoom and xenon flash. It also has autofocus, face recognition and image stabilization. The G810 is 3G-compatible as well, and its screen is larger than the G800. One main upgrade is that the G810 features a GPS receiver and Navigon GPS navigation software. It also has an upgraded operating system, Symbian OSv9.2. It has a secondary VGA camera for video calling and high-speed Internet access, and is meant to function and compete as a smartphone.

phone will crash often when plugged into PC that is going through a shutdown/bootup sequence (need to pull phone battery to solve this)

only SkypeLite available (not Samsung's fault, but no VoIP possible with this Skype version, fring/iSkoot the same)

these phones usually do NOT come with the Navigon GPS software, just a Navigon GPS status tool showing raw latitude, longitude, etc.

Bluetooth pairing with A2DP/AVRCP headsets works only intermittently (removing paired device and adding it back will usually solve problem, but sometimes reboot is required)

SAMSUNG DOES NOT CARE for this device. They do not release any firmware updates for this. Samsung gets all the nice features into a phone, but quality and support disappoint in almost all points. Next time I'll buy a smartphone it will not be Samsung.

sporadically, keyboard to letter mapping gets corrupted (phone seems to operate normally, but i.e. you won't get a letter 's' any more. hard reboot required)

the "date picture taken" (JPEG's EXIF field) is always empty. Applications like Picasa won't be able to filter photos by time, unless you manually edit each photo by looking at the file system's "date created" time stamp.

many Nokia applications (like SportsTracker) won't run on this phone (restriction by Nokia)

crappy camera image quality, especially indoors (weak colors, small dynamic range -> lots of overexposure, settings don't lock when button is half-pressed though it makes you believe they do)
