The Samsung Magnet SGH-A257 is a low-end (budget) candybar/smartphone designed in the likes of the average Blackberry or handheld PDA type cell phone. The SGH-A257 will be offered by AT&T, and utilizes GSM quadband (850/900/1800/1900MHz) frequencies.

The Magnet features a full size QWERTY keyboard with a navigation menu pad and unique folder hotkey buttons. The body is outlined in a bright halloween orange, and a dark chrome front face. The Samsung Magnet features a 240 x 320 pixel QVGA LCD display, combined with an integrated 2 megapixel digital camera/camcorder.

The Samsung Magnet includes additional features such as xHTML/HTML/2.0 WAP browser support, Bluetooth 2.0 compatibility, JAVA 2.0 platform support, instant messaging and MMS services, a universal media player, speakerphone options, an internal antenna, call vibration, a voice recording function, MP3 polyphonic ringtone support, a microSD expansion slot, and standard cell phone tools.
